The Keyes Institute of Ice Hockey (KIIH) is seeking enthusiastic Skating & Hockey Instructors to join our Youth Development Department.
Whether you're a hockey parent, current player, former player, college student, teacher, or someone who simply enjoys working with children, we'd love to have you on our team.
Our instructors play a vital role in creating a fun, positive, and engaging experience for every skater and hockey player who steps onto the ice.

Position Overview
Skating & Hockey Instructors work alongside Hockey Program Leaders to deliver high-quality, station-based instruction. Instructors are responsible for teaching individual skating and hockey skills while encouraging players, building confidence, and creating a positive learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead an assigned instructional station during classes.
- Teach skating and hockey fundamentals using the KIIH curriculum.
- Demonstrate proper techniques and drills.
- Provide positive feedback and individual instruction.
- Help create a fun, safe, and energetic environment.
- Assist with class setup and cleanup.
- Support Hockey Program Leaders throughout each session.
- Serve as a positive role model for players and families.
Qualifications
- Passion for teaching and developing young athletes.
- Positive attitude and strong communication skills.
- Dependable and punctual.
- Skating and/or hockey experience is preferred but not required.
- Comfortable working with children of all skill levels.
- Willingness to learn and follow the KIIH instructional philosophy.
Compensation
Paid and volunteer opportunities are available.
Paid instructors are compensated on an hourly basis based on experience and responsibilities.
Volunteer instructors receive valuable coaching experience, mentorship, leadership development, and the opportunity to make a lasting impact on young athletes.
